ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said that Pakistan was not involved in the killings of Indian soldiers.

During an interview with an Indian TV channel, the Pakistan foreign minister said that the incident took place on the other side of the border and India should investigate the matter.

Khar said that Pakistan has completed the probe regarding the Line of Control incident and the country also offered to have inquiry done from a third party.

Lance Naik Aslam of Pakistan army was martyred in the incident, she added.

Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Salman Bashir also brushed aside the allegations being leveled against Pakistan, saying Islamabad was prepared to hold investigations through the UN Military Observer Group on the recent ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC).

Asserting that Pakistan was committed to a constructive, sustained and result-oriented process of engagement with India, Bashir said it was "important that both sides make serious efforts in maintaining this improvement and avoid negative propaganda".

Pakistan "strongly rejects the Indian allegation of an attack across the LoC on its military patrol in which two Indian soldiers were claimed to have been killed. These are baseless and unfounded allegations," Bashir said.

He said "Pakistan is prepared to hold investigations through the United Nations Military Observer Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) on the recent ceasefire violations on the Line of Control."
