ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said Saturday that the Parliament could not make legislation that was in clash with the Constitution.
Talking to a delegation of Youth Parliament that called him here, the Chief Justice in case the Parliament drafts laws that are against the provisions of the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the option to review the same.
"The objective of such a review by the Supreme Court is to put a check on misuse of authority," he added.
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said all the state institutions were functioning independently within the parameters of the Constitutional.
He described the members of Youth Parliament as a future of the nation and told them that the Constitution was such document that provides answers to all the questions.
