ISLAMABAD: Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmed said Monday the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had ordered the National Database Management Authority (NADRA) to develop software for fingerprint verification as soon as possible.

Meanwhile Chairman NADRA, Tariq Malik said it will take two weeks to develop the fingerprint verification software, adding that a summary of the software and hardware cost has been sent to the caretaker government.

The NADRA chairman further said that the new software will be developed in integration with the Civil Fingerprint Automated Identification System and will be upgraded to verify at least 500,000 finger prints per day.
