BLA responsible for attack on Quaid-e-Azam residency
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has revealed that the attackers of the Quaid-e-Azam residency in Zairat removed the Pakistan flag and replaced it with the flag of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

The interior minister presented the initial investigation report of the attack in the National Assembly on Saturday. According to the report there was firing and five explosions at the Qauid-e-Azam residency at approximately 1:15 AM.

Following the attack, the historic building was completely burnt and the fire was extinguished after a four hour struggle.

District Police Officer (DPO) said that six bombs were also recovered from the site of the incident. He said that each bomb weighed 2 to 3 kilograms.

The DPO further said that the attackers also opened fire following the rocket attacks, resultantly a policeman was killed.

Heavy contingent of police and FC reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the area. Levies personnel are inspecting the vehicle of the attackers.

Quaid-e-Azam, spent his last days in the building, which was declared a national monument following his death, one year after Pakistan's independence in 1947.
