42 killed in Parachinar twin blasts
PESHAWAR: At least 42 people were killed and more than 100 others injured when twin explosions ripped through a busy marketplace in Parachinar northwest Pakistan, administration and hospital officials said.

The attack occurred in Parachinar, the main town of Kurram tribal district on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, as people were buying food to open their daily fasts during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

According to Geo News, the injured were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital, where some of them were in critical condition.

Nature of the blasts and identities of the dead and injured were yet to be ascertained. Heavy contingent of security forces rushed to spot and cordoned off the area.
