Imran says will block Nato supplies to record protest
NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday criticized the United States for sabotaging Pakistan’s peace talks with militants when Washington itself was seeking to engage the Afghan Taliban in talks.

Speaking to media, the cricketer-turned politician said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government did not want war with the West by blocking Nato supplies instead it only wanted to record protest.

He said thousands of people had taken to streets in UK to protest war against Iraq. Khan said that those who were criticizing him were receiving money from the foreign countries. He also claimed that a “do-more” US lobby was working in Pakistan.

The PTI chief said it was the first time that any political government was going to hold talks with the Taliban as previously only the army did so. He said Nawaz Sharif should spearhead peace process, adding that the prime minister should spend his time in the country.

Khan added that the government should seek assurance from the US that drone strikes would not be conducted during peace talks.
