Asmatullah Muavia hails Munawar Hassan’s remarks

KARACHI: As Jamaat-e-Islami drew strong criticism from the Pakistan Army and political parties over a controversial statement of its Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan, a Taliban commander came hard on the critics of JI Ameer and termed them US puppets.

Asmatullah Muavia, chief of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjab, on Monday lauded JI Amer and said he stated truth, adding that paid agents of the United States were opposing Munwar Hassan’s statement.

Moreover, TTP Mehmend Agency chief Umar Khalid Khurasani said in a video statement that there was no question of any peace talks with the government after the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud.

He said that the Pakistan government and the army had always deceived the Taliban in the name of talks. The militant commander said that government wanted to win people’s sympathies by chanting slogan of talks.
