Pilgrims bus targeted in Mastung, 24 killed
QUETTA: At least 24 people were killed and scores others injured when a pilgrims' bus came under a bomb attack in Mastung on Tuesday evening, district administration said.

The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) has claimed responsibility of the attack.

According to levies sources, the bus carrying pilgrims, was traveling from Taftan to Quetta when the blast took place in the Dareen Gah area of Mastung.

Home Secretary, Asad Gilani said 80 to 100 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack in which three other vehicles were also destroyed.

The bus caught fire following the blast while security forces cordoned off the area.

The attack has been condemned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain. Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik has called for a report of the attack.

The attack has also been condemned by the Majils-e-Wahadat-e-Muslimeen and the Hazara Democratic Party. Shia organisations have announced three days of mourning.
