ISLAMABAD: UN agencies in a joint report exposed the plight of Pakistan's government primary schools according to which 45 percent of the schools are without electricity while 32 percent children do not go to school at all.

Academy of Education Planning and Management, World Food Program, UNICEF and UNESCO in their joint report said that 32 percent children of 5 to 9 years do not go to school.

It further stated that 17 percent of the primary schools only have one room where average number of teachers is less than three. Eight percent of the schools are without buildings while 35 percent schools are without boundary walls and washrooms.

Report advised the government to make efforts to improve the condition of primary schools and to persuade the children to send their kids to schools.
