Sindh govt responsible for Hamid Mir attack probe

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid visited Geo News senior anchor Hamid Mir at the Aga Khan Hospital where he is recovering after being shot thrice in an attack on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters, Rashid said the attack on Hamid Mir took place in Karachi and it was the responsibility of the Sindh government to conduct an investigation. The information minister added that the federal government will provide full support during the probe.





Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif summoned a high-level meeting to discuss the attack on Hamid Mir. The prime minister announced that a three member judicial commission will be formed to probe the attack on Hamid Mir.

The prime minister has assured Hamid Mir’s family of an independent investigation into the attack.
