SHC hears application to remove Musharraf’s name from ECL
KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has accepted an application to remove the name of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The application was filed by Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Farogh Naseem on Monday and was heard by a two member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar. The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the federation and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for April 23.

Pervez Musharraf’s name was placed on the ECL in April, 2013 by the interior ministry. The former president was indicted in the treason case on March 31, 2014 following which he was moved to his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad from the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC).

Meanwhile, the former president is having his back examined by a team of doctors at his Karachi residence. Musharraf arrived in Karachi on Saturday and is expected to stay in the city for a few days.
