Five ‘terrorists’ arrested in Multan
MULTAN: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Capt (R) Muhammad Ameen claimed on Saturday to have arrested five terrorists and recovered weapons and explosives from their possession.

Addressing a press conference at Police Lines Muhammad Ameen said that police along with other law enforcement agencies had traced a group of terrorists.

He said Muhammad Nasir of Muzaffargarh was arrested for making video of Central Jail and other suspicious activities.

During investigations he told police about his accomplices including Abdul Haseeb from Kashmir, Ahmed Rizwan from Toba Taik Singh, Muhammad Ameen from Muzaffargarh and Muhammad Sarfraz.

On Saturday police arrested all of them and recovered 26 detonators, explosives maps weapons and computers from their possession.

The RPO said the group was led by Qari Imran who had joined the Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan in North Wazirastan.

He said Qari Imran was also involved in a blast at the office of a law enforcement agency in Multan.

During investigations the group confessed its involvement in target killings in Hazara division and Khyber Pakhtoonkha.

He said the group was planning to attack jails offices of law enforcement agencies and other sensitive points. He said the group was not involved in Ali Haider Gilani s abduction case.
