Karachi airport attack probe: Five taken into custody from Nawabshah
NAWABSHAH: Police and intelligence agencies conducted raids at two mobile franchise shops and took five people into custody in connection with the Karachi airport attack.

According to sources, mobile SIMs used by terrorists in the airport attack were purchased from these mobile franchise shops.

The raids took place on Tuesday in Nawabshah and those taken into custody where shifted to an unknown location for interrogation. Records along with laptops and computers used at these stores were also seized.

The owners of these mobile franchise stores were among those who were taken into custody. Nawabshah city police chief Ijaz Tareen did not provide any details despite being repeatedly contacted.

The families of those taken into custody said they had not given any details of the whereabouts of their loved ones. The mobile phone association called for a protest against the arrests and all mobile markets in the city were shut.

Meanwhile, an FIR of the terrorist attack has been lodged against Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Mullah Fazlullah, spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid and other accused.

According to SSP Malir Rao Anwaar, the case has been registered at Airport Police Station on the complaint of Assistant Director of Airport Security Force (ASF).
