SC sets aside PCB new constitution’s notification

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Friday suspended the notification relating to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) new constitution issued by the prime minister and ordered status quo in the Board with Najam Sethi as chairman, Geo News reported.

SC two-member bench comprising of Justice Saqib Nisar and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali was hearing the appointment of PCB chairman case here.

During the hearing, Justice Saqib Nisar enquired when the court had issued stay order on the matter, how the government after making the constitution issue notification relating to the same matter?

Attorney General Salman Butt said that the court had reinstated Najam Sethi by issuing stay order on May 21, 2014 and the court again ordered on May 27 for maintaining staus quo.
