LPG price-hikes sans approval of OGRA illegal: dealers
LAHORE: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) marketing companies have whimsically increased the prices by whopping Rs20 per kilo without the approval of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Geo News reported.

LPG dealers have announced staging protest against these unlawful price-hikes, while the hapless consumers complain of the relatively cheaper LPG getting costlier and beyond their reach.

Rickshaw drivers said that they were earning their livelihood by using a little cheaper LPG, but with the persistent increase in prices they are now forced to buy LPG at Rs120 per kilo instead of earlier at Rs70, causing great hardships to both the rickshaw drivers and the passengers.

LPG Dealers Association said that increasing LPG prices without the approval of OGRA was illegal. They said marketing companies are out to mint money with the connivance of OGRA officials. They have urged upon the government to take action against the greedy marketing companies responsible for this artificial price-hikes.
