Geo News receives copy of new PCB constitution

LAHORE: Geo News has received the copy of the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) constitution.

The constitution states that the prime minister will remain patron-in-chief of the cricket board.

The chairman will be elected for a three year term by the board of governors and may run for a second term. The chairman will also have the powers of the chief executive along with the authority to appoint the selection committee and captain.

In the absence of the chairman an acting chairman will be appointed by the board of governors. The chairman will also be answerable to the board of governors.

The board is also authorized to express lack of trust against the chairman.

The constitution further states that a bachelors qualification is required to contest the election for chairman.
