Hyder Rizvi, Ijazul Haq visit PM after meeting Qadri

ISLAMABAD: MQM’s Hyder Abbas Rizvi and chief of his own faction of PML Ijazul Haq assumed the role of mediators between the government and the Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri after the latter announced to lay siege to the Parliament House.

Both the leaders met the firebrand Allama in Islamabad’s Red Zone where he had gathered thousands of his followers to get his set of demands met.

Though it was yet not clear what was discussed in the meeting, Ijazul Haq and Hyder Rizvi expressed hope that the prevailing impasse would be resolved.

Rizvi told newsmen that Qadri was not ready to negotiate until cabinet members didn’t meet him. Ijazull Haq told media the issue would be resolved through talks as nobody wanted a deadlock.

Both the politicians headed to the Prime Minister House to meet Nawaz Sharif in a bid to find a way out of the crisis.
