Imran links holding of talks to PM resignation
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Wednesday said dialogue can be held but linked its initiation with the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

In a media statement, Imran Khan said after the resignation of Nawaz Sharif, the Supreme Court will have to come forward as a surety. “Nawaz Sharif’s stepping down remains top on our agenda,” he added.

He said Supreme Court is the only institution to dispense justice and if the apex court makes a decision it will be acceptable to his party.

Imran Khan said Lahore’s Model Town tragedy and rigging in elections are two separate issues.

He said even Hosni Mubarak, former president of Egypt, used to hold elections but the country never witnessed true democracy.

He said it has now been proved that the PML-N government came to power through rigging.

The PTI chief said his party believed in democracy but what we have in Pakistan today is far from it.

He said the nation knew him well that he plays the match till the last ball.

He said the government will have to pack up in case it decided to launch a crackdown on his party’s workers.

Later addressing the marchers, Imran Khan said he only seeks help from Allah Almighty and not the US.

Imran Khan joined the protesters in chanting ‘go Nawaz go’.
