President, PM discuss current situation
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday to discuss the current situation.

According to a press release issued by the President House, the Prime Minister discussed the current political imbroglio with President Mamnoon Hussain.

During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif took the president into confidence on the prevailing political crisis and demands put forward by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

Both the leaders agreed on the fact that the assemblies should complete its tenure and that the premier vowed not to quit his office. The president reposed complete confidence in the current leadership for resolving the matter through dialogue.

The Prime Minister said that the government is ready to accept the legitimate demands of PAT and PTI leaders.

The PTI and PAT are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whose government, they allege, is in office due to a rigged 2013 general election.
