Joint session of parliament begins

ISLAMABAD: The joint sitting of the Parliament began today (Tuesday) and will continue for a week to discuss prevailing political situation in the country.

Speaker NA Ayaz Sadiq and Chairman Senate Nayyar Bukhari are jointly presiding over the session.

President Mamnoon Hussain had summoned the joint session of the parliament on the advice of PM Nawaz Sharif who is also present in the session today.

In this regard, the Prime Minister had consulted Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah and Opposition leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan.
