RAWALPINDI: The military offensive in North Waziristan is progressing according to plan. According to latest figures 910 terrorists have been killed in operations.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army's media wing the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an 88 km long Road, Khajuri-Mirali-Miranshah-Dattakhel and Road Ghariom-Jhallar have been cleared.





Security forces have also cleared Miranshah, Mirali, Datta Khel, Boya and Degan, which were earlier considered strong holds of terrorists.

The ISPR release further states, that as many as 27 IED manufacturing factories, one rocket and one ammunition manufacturing factory have been destroyed.

Huge cache of arms and ammunition, communication equipment, and other logistics facilities used by terrorists have been destroyed, uprooting their ability to attack as a coherent force.

Over 2,274 intelligence-led coordinated counter terrorism operations carried out across the country to forestall any blow back of the military operation. 42 terrorists have been killed and 114 apprehended during these operations.

Martyred

Since the beginning of operation Zarb-e-Azb, 82 soldiers have embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorism while 269 have sustained injuries.

Relief and Healthcare

Meanwhile, relief operations for the displaced people of North Waziristan Agency continue with full zest and zeal. Till now 19,376 tons of rations have been distributed among 97,570 families at six relief distribution points at Bannu, DI Khan and Tank.

113,209 patients including 32,979 females have been treated at the field medical hospital established by Army Medical Corps at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital Bannu. 32,226 cattle have also been treated so far where as 73,338 cattle and 129,141 poultry stock has been vaccinated.
