Dr Shakeel Auj’s murder case registered

KARACHI: Police have registered the case of Karachi University dean Prof Dr Shakeel Auj’s murder against unknown culprits in Aziz Bhatti police station on Friday, Geo News reported.

According to police, the case has been registered on the complaint of Dr Shakeel’s son Dr Mohammad Hassam. The case has been filed under murder, attempted murder and anti-terrorism sections.

Karachi University remained closed on second consecutive day to mourn the death of its dean Prof Hafiz Shakeel Auj.

The dean of faculty of Islamic Studies was murdered by target killers on Thursday at University Road.

The students and teachers have appealed to the government and Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of the unbridled target killings in Karachi and order strict action against unknown persons busy in the bloodbath of the largest city of Pakistan

The Vice Chancellor of Karachi University had announced three days mourning over the death of the senior scholar after which the educational activities remained suspended at the campus.
