NA-149 by-polls: PML-N, PPP leave ground clear for Hashmi in NA-149

Lahore: Ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have decided not to contest by-elections against Javed Hashmi in NA-149, Geo News reported.

The two parties have left ground clear for ‘Baghi’ as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had already decided to boycott the by-elections.

The veteran politician Hashmi had announced to contest the election as an independent candidate after resigning from his national assembly seat after his party submitted resignations en-masse. He is the only MNA from PTI who came to the National Assembly and announced his decision to seek the fresh mandate from his constituency.
