Defiant Imran shows flexibility in rigid stance
ISLAMABAD: Former cricket star turned politician Imran Khan showed some flexibility on late Monday night as he announced that he would end his sit-in if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif declares his assets ‘honestly’.

Speaking to his supporters here at the PTI sit-in, he said that a youth, who did not know how to speak Urdu, had been given an entire political party in inheritance.

Imran challanged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to get the assets of his father and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif declared. He also offered to wind up his sit-in if Prime Minister Nawaz declared his assets and those of the members of his family.

The PTI chairman announced that his party would hold demonstrations in all the districts on Wednesday against the latest increase in power tariff and said that the consumers had to pay for the power theft committed by the rulers.

Imran made it clear that he would not stop his struggle for the rights of Pakistanis until Nawaz resigned and alleged the rulers had mortgaged Pakistan’s future by obtaining massive loans which were never spent on welfare of masses.

About the PPP’s public meeting in Karachi the other day, the PTI chairman said that with the amount spent on just one public meeting of Zardari, he could manage the sit-in for three years. He maintained that the sit-in was a struggle for creating an awareness among the masses about their rights.
