AZAD KASHMIR: At least eight persons including three women were killed and six others injured when a passenger jeep plunged into a ravine in Azad Kashmir on Tuesday morning, Geo News reported.

Details have it that the incident occurred when the ill-fated passenger jeep was travelling from Jhagaran area of Neelum Valley to Kundil Shahi and met with an accident that killed eight passengers and injured six others.

Police told that the accident occurred due to over speeding and that the vehicle was carrying eighteen passengers.

During the rescue operation carried out with the help of local residents, eight dead bodies and six injured were pulled out from the ravine. The search operation is still on for the remaining four missing passengers.

Police told that some injured were in critical condition and feared that the toll may rise.
