MQM MPA calls for formation of Mohajir province

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly session on Friday witnessed heated debates between lawmakers over the formation of new provinces.

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) MPA, Kamran Akhter raised a call attention notice on the issue of appointments in the Sindh Public Service Commission.

Akhter said people of urban areas in the province were being pushed against the wall due to conspiracies against them. He added that if the faces of Mohajirs were not liked, a separate province should be created for them.

In response to Akhter, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said the PPP’s stance on the issue was clear that the province will not be separated. “We value Karachi as much as Larkana and Khairpur,” Memon said.
