Police arrest main accused in Edhi Centre robbery
KARACHI: Police on Friday arrested the main accused in the robbery at the Edhi Centre and recovered the stolen foreign and local currency.

According to police sources, the accused Rashid alias Muzaffar was arrested from the Korangi area of Karachi and currency stolen during the robbery was recovered.

The gold stolen during the robber had been sold by the accused. Police is conducting an investigation to recover the stolen gold and is keep its probe secret.

The arrest was confirmed by DIG South Abdul Khaliq Shaikh while raids are being conducting to arrest others involved in the robbery.

On Sunday, world renowned social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi was held at gun point and deprived of cash and valuables estimated to be worth millions of rupees.

Ten armed men entered the Edhi office and made away with cash and valuables including Rs 10 million in cash as well as 5 kilograms of gold.
