Minister blames foreign agencies after 4,000 kg explosives recovered in Balochistan
QUETTA: A major terror bid was foiled when the Frontier Corps (FC) along with other security agencies seized a huge cache of arms and explosives during raids in different areas of Balochistan ahead of Ashura.

Raids were conducted in areas including Quetta, Mastung and Gulistan during which 4,000 kilograms of explosives were recovered.

Forces also recovered 101 missiles. 106 rocket shells, 18 suicide jackets and 31 sub-machine guns. Officials claimed that the arms and explosives were to be used for a plot of terrorism in Quetta during Muharram-ul-Haram.

DIG FC, Brigadier Tahir Mahmood held a news conference alongside Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.

The DIG FC informed the media that an Afghan citizen was arrested during the raids while explosives recovered were brought from a neighbouring country.

The provincial home minister said Indian and Afghan agencies were involved in efforts to destabilise the province.
