Cyclone Nilofar likely to cross Sindh coastal areas on Friday
KARACHI: Tropical Cyclone Nilofar in the Arabian Sea is likely to cross adjoining coastal areas of lower Sindh and Indian Gujrat as a depression on Friday.

According to the MET Office forecast, Nilofar will cross the coastal areas of Sindh as a depression with wind speed of 70-80 kilometers per hour gusting up to 90 kilometers per hour.

The MET Office in Thursday’s tropical cyclone advisory stated that Nilofar was weakening gradually and it has been converted into a sever tropical storm.

Sea conditions along the Pakistan coast are likely to remain rough to very rough from Thursday evening till Saturday due to the cyclone and the fishermen of Sindh and Balochistan are advised to keep their activities suspended up till Saturday.

The cyclone would continue to move north eastward towards adjoining coastal areas of lower Sindh and Indian Gujrat with a speed of 14 km hour during the next 24 hours.

At present the estimated central pressure of cyclone is 994 hpa and the average sustained wind speed around is 70-80 Knots gusting up to 90 Knots.

Under the influences of the cyclone widespread rain thundershowers with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds are expected in Lower Sindh and adjoining coastal areas of Balochistan from Thursday (evening) till Saturday.
