ECP begins verification of election record in NA-122

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday began verification of the election record in NA-122.

The decision to verify the election record in the constituency was made on a request filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. The PTI chairman was defeated by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in this constituency. Khan has accused Sadiq of rigging votes in NA-122.

The ECP has directed the returning officer to submit ballot papers along with other election record by November 6. During the verification process, ballot papers, counter file, voter lists and results of polling stations will be evaluated.
