PTI workers manhandle Geo News staff in Karachi
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Friday manhandled two female reporters of Geo News during the party’s protest coverage in Karachi.

According to details, Umaima Malik and Sidra Dar were harassed by the PTI workers shortly after Imran Khan concluded his speech.

The enraged workers pelted Geo’s Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) van with stones and empty bottles.

The PTI workers tried to drag a female reporter who had taken refuge in the van and used abusive language against her.

Following the attack, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon condemned the attack on female journalists by PTI workers.

Memon said PTI Chief Imran Khan had introduced the culture of hooliganism in politics.

Senior journalists Mazhar Abbas and Talat Hussain also condemned the attack on Geo News staff and asked Khan to control his workers.

Hussain said the trend of using abusive language against the opponents needs to be stopped because “if you use abusive language for someone today then tomorrow you will have to face the same”.
