Anti-terrorism action plan: Committee to meet on Friday
ISLAMABAD: The parliamentary committee formed to formulate the anti-terrorism action plan will hold its first meeting on Friday.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has named Shireen Mazari, Quami Watan Party Aneesa Zeb Tahirkhel and Awami National Party Afrasiyab Khattak as their representatives of the committee. Awami Muslim League President Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed will also be a member of the committee along PML-Q leader Mushaidullah Syed, Akram Durrani from the JUI-F and Sahibzada Tariqullah from JI.

Meanwhile the Pakistan Peoples Party has put forward the names of Rehman Malik and Qamar Zama Kaira for the committee. The MQM will be represented by Dr Farooq Sattar and Babar Ghauri.




Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has summoned an initial review meeting of the National Action Plan Committee on Thursday. The meeting will be attended the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) coordinator Hamid Ali Khan, DG National Crisis Management Cell Saud Aziz along with senior Interior Ministry and intelligence agencies representatives.

A committee headed by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and comprising members of political parties, armed forces and intelligence agencies was formed during the All Parties Conference on Wednesday. The committee is tasked with formulating a plan to tackle terrorism in seven days which will be presented before the nation.
