Govt, PTI very near to reach an agreement
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar on Friday said that government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiation teams would make efforts to conclude talks by end of next week.

Talking to media after meeting of negotiation teams, Dar said it was the clear direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to conclude and wind up talks as soon as possible.

The minister said his party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was fully supporting the talks keeping in view the challenges of the country. And I must acknowledge that PTI team is also fully cooperating, he said.

Ishaq Dar said that due to mutual cooperation they were very near to reach conclusion.

“We will share the progress with our leadership and they with their leadership and the reaming little gap will be bridged in talks after weekend.”

He said that final document of the agreement would be shared with other parliamentary political parties. “We will close the entire issue by next week.”

Vice Chairman of PTI, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, speaking on the occasion, said that much progress was made in today talks, held in positive manner. “We have agreed on things which were already settled and substantial progress was made on Terms of Reference.”

He said both sides carried forward talks with great spirit and would reach final agreement soon keeping in view national interest. “We will be near to agreement by end of next week.”

Ishaq Dar appreciated PTI for sending its representatives in the meeting of National Action Plan and after agreement on formation of Judicial Commission the government would request PTI to also join parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.

PTI General Secretary Jahangir Tareen said that return to the parliament was linked with the findings of the Judicial Commission, adding electoral reforms were necessary for free and fair elections which was objective of PTI. (APP)
