Interpol arrests main accused of Lyari gang-war Uzair Baloch
DUBAI: Uzair Baloch was arrested by Dubai authorities on Monday, on his way from Muscat to Dubai, sources there confirmed.

Interpol had issued red warrants for the main accused of the Lyari gang-war Uzair Baloch and Noor Mohammad alias Baba Ladla on June 11, 2014.

According to sources, Baloch was travelling on an Iranian passport with his name listed as Abdol Ghani. Sources added that the decision to extradite Baloch to Iran or Pakistan is yet to be made.

The red warrant for Uzair Baloch said that the professional dangerous criminal was born on October 10, 1977 and fled to UAE, Iran, Oman and South Africa.

Sindh government had sent documents seeking red warrants for key suspects of Lyari gang-war to federal government on May 21. The federal government, through FIA contacted the Interpol for their arrest.

The Pakistan Embassy also confirmed that the he was arrested on Monday.

Extradition to Pakistan expected in 30 days

It is expected that Baloch will be extradited to Pakistan within 30 days and the Karachi police will forward documents pertaining to the alleged Lyari gang war criminal to the Interior Ministry.

The Interior Ministry is then expected to establish contact with UAE officials through Pakistan’s Foreign Office. Uzair Baloch will be released ff the documents are not received by UAE officials within 30 days.
