ISLAMABAD: Pak Embassy in UAE has received a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan for extradition of Lyari gang war chief Uzair Baloch, GEO News reported.

The Pakistan Embassy will forward the letter to the UAE officials.

According to the sources, Uzair will be brought to Abu Dhabi for investigation today.

Uzair Baloch was arrested by Interpol in Dubai on December 29, 2014.

Baloch was wanted by the judicial authorities in connection with target killing, extortion and other criminal cases.

He was declared proclaimed offender by an Anti-Terrorism Court on July 23, 2013 in the murder case of alleged Lyari gangster, Arshad Pappu. Afterwards, Karachi police raided his house several times but failed to capture him.

Earlier, the Pakistani government had contacted the Interpol through Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for arrest of the accused.
