Extortionist involved in murder of trader arrested
KARACHI: An extortionist wanted for the murder of a factory manager on January 7 was arrested from the Gabol Town area of the city on Monday.

According to DIG West Tahir Naveed, the target killer Abdul Rahim was arrested during police action in the area and admitted to the crime in front of the police and media.

The criminal said he had asked the factory manager for Rs 2,000 and killed him when he refused to pay the amount.

The criminal further said a person named Anwar had sent him to murder the owner of the factory. He added that Anwar had threatened to kill his entire family if he did not murder the factory owner.

Police said the criminal had been identified with the help of CCTV video and is also accused of the murder of a doctor for not paying extortion and other crimes.

DIG West said further raids are being conducted for the arrest of Abdul Rahim’s accomplices.
