Asfandyar to demand full poll audit if PTI commission is formed

CHARSADDA: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali on Monday said that his party would demand a complete audit of the 2013 general election if a judicial commission is formed upon protests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Speaking at a public gathering organised to mark death anniversaries of former ANP chiefs Wali Khan and Bacha Khan, he warned the government against forming the judicial commission on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s demand saying the party would demand a probe into rigging allegations of the last year polls across the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Imran Khan’s PTI is the ruling party in the province.

The ANP president said that some forces were creating hurdles in the way of implementation of newly formed National Action Plan (NAP) to eradicate terrorism form the country.

He claimed that the KP government was responsible for the deadly Dec 16 Taliban attack on an army-run school in Peshawar, the capital of the province. He added that the provincial government, however, was denying their negligence in the incident.

Asfandyar said India has greatly progressed by implementing Bacha Khan’s philosophy of nonviolence. Whereas, he added, terrorism and unrest have flourished in Pakistan due to negligence of the Bacha Khan’s philosophy.
