IHC adjourns hearing of Mumtaz Qadri's appeal for one week
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued a one week deadline as prosecutors asked for more time during today’s hearing of Mumtaz Qadri’s appeal against the IHC decision in Punjab governor Salman Taseer’s murder case.

Qadri’s appeal against the death sentence was heard by IHC’s Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

Prosecutors today asked for two weeks for preparations, however, the court after issuing a one week deadline, adjourned the case.

Mumtaz Qadri murdered Salman Taseer on January 4 2011 in Islamabad’s Kohsar Market. On October 1 2011 he was sentenced to death by an Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) after proven guilty.
