Rashid fears Imran may challenge Judicial commission findings

ISLAMABAD: Responding to Imran Khan’s allegations, Information Minister Pervez Rashid on Thursday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman was doing politics by criticizing projects of public welfare.

Speaking at a press conference, the federal minister said Khan accepts only those rulings passed by himself. “Imran Khan expresses joy over court rulings that are passed in his favour”.

He said there was no guarantee that the PTI chief would not challenge the findings of the proposed judicial commission which he has been demanding to probe into the alleged election rigging.

“Will Imran Khan file an application if judicial commission gives its decision,” he asked.

The minister said that Imran Khan levelled allegations against former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and later tendered an apology then turned against Najam Sethi who also went to court.

“Imran didn’t appear before the court for eight months and a notice was issued against the PTI chairman and his counsel for their absence,” he said.

Rashid said Imran Khan should fell happy about a bridge is being built in Chinot but instead he continued to raise objections over projects of public welfare.

He said that the four constituencies, about which Imran Khan had been expressing reservations, have already been opened in the election tribunals.

Earlier, PTI chief Khan had criticised the PML-N government for being indecisive on formation of the judicial commission. He said that the party would again stage street protests across the country if the government fails to constitute the commission soon.

The PTI chief said that a meeting of the party's core committee will be held on Friday over petrol and electricity crises.
