Dar urges Reham to convince Imran into accepting judicial commission

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday said that he was glad that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's new wife Reham Khan had convinced him to end his protest and civil disobedience movement.

Speaking to reporters here today, Dar said he would now request 'Bhabhi' (sister-in-law) Reham Khan to convince her cricketer-turned politician husband to accept a government-proposed judicial commission to probe alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

“[Reham] is very respectable for us. She has been a part of the media and she understands all this. This whole issue can be solved in half an hour. If two things have been solved because of our 'Bhabhi', we will request her to help solve this problem as well now,” Dar told a press conference here today.

The host of a political talk show on a Pakistani television channel, Reham tied the knot with Imran earlier this month, ending weeks of speculation about whether the PTI chief was getting married for a second time.

Imran was reported to have paid the electricity bills for his Bani Gala residence a day after his marriage to Reham, bringing an end to his civil disobedience movement.

IESCO had disconnected electricity supply to Khan’s residence in October 2014 citing non-payment.
