Two suspected terrorists of Shikarpur attack arrested in Sindh
KARACHI: Two suspected terrorists connected to Shikarpur imambargah attack were arrested from interior Sindh on Friday, police official said.

SSP Saqib Ismael Memon told media representatives that the terrorists were arrested after being identified by already arrested suspects during interrogation.

He said two suicide jackets, a drum full of explosives and large quantity of weapons were also recovered from the terrorists.

Memon said that the arrested suspects belong to banned outfits Lashkar-e-Jahngvi (LeJ) and Jaish-al-Islam and also wanted to target the protest sit-ins staged to denounce the incident.

At least 61 people including children were killed when a suicide blast ripped through an imambargah during Friday prayers in Shikarpur on January 31.

Speaking at a press conference later, SSP Memon said that the suicide bomber has been identified as Mohammad Ilyas Brohi from Quetta. He stayed at the residence of absconder Ali Sher before carrying the Jan 31 attack, he added.

Memon said that the terrorists were arrested in a raid carried out in Goth Abdul Khaliq Pandrani of interior Sindh and were also involved in the target killing of Shafqat Abbas Muthari of Azadari Council.

Muthari was murdered at Khanpur Indus Highway four months ago.
