KARACHI: Unnecessary lights and electronic equipment were turned off in Pakistan at 8:30 PM for 60 minutes to observe Earth Hour on Saturday.

The aim of Earth Hour is to underscore the importance of and the need for looking out for our planet.

In Karachi, additional lights were turned off at many important buildings and land-marks across Karachi including the Sindh Assembly, Port Grand and Mazar-e-Quaid the Expo Center as well as other important buildings.

Similar protocol was followed in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. Government buildings turned off all extra lighting and electrical equipment for Earth Hour 2015.
