PTI leaders nominate MQM chief in Jinnah ground incident
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Imran Ismail and Dr. Arif Alvi have approached the Gulberg police in Karachi to register a First Information Report (FIR) on the incident that took place at Jinnah ground earlier on Tuesday.

The leaders arrived at the SSP Gulberg’s office and registered their complaint.
Speaking to journalists outside the SSP office, PTI leader Imran Ismail said they have requested in their complaint to nominate MQM chief Altaf Hussain in the FIR.

Imran Ismail has claimed in his complaint that four of his supporters were beaten with sticks and injured.

Meanwhile, the MQM also registered an FIR later and nominated PTI chief Imran Khan, Imran Ismail, and Arif Alvi.

Earlier in the day Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail had claimed many of his supporters were injured by MQM hooligans. Meanwhile the MQM had claimed their workers had been injured by PTI thugs.

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Ismail said that MQM should rein in their thugs, adding, that no area should be allowed to be any party’s property.

He further added that MQM workers smashed the windows of his car adding that the MQM is trying to spread fear in their hearts, but nor he nor his party can be scared.

The MQM still maintains that Imran Ismail came to Jinnah ground with thugs where children were playing cricket and tore down MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s posters and also desecrated the yaadgar-e-shuhuda (martyrs memorial), which angered the supporters.
