Security guard killed in gunfight at DG Khan school
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Between two to three gunmen opened fire after entering a government school in Dera Ghazi Khan, killing the security guard, police said.

Students and teachers remained unhurt in the attack, which police and government officials said was not an act of terrorism but related to a personal dispute.

The incident took place at the Government High School Sarwar Wali, about 25 to 30 kilometres on the outskirts of DG Khan.

According to reports, the security guard of the school was shot dead as the gunmen entered the school by jumping the rear wall of the building. Police personnel soon reached the location and engaged the attackers in a gun-fight, after which the attackers managed to escape.

It was unclear who the gunmen were attempting to target.

In a statement, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab said the incident was not related to terrorism. A Punjab police spokesman said that students or teachers were not injured in the gun attack.

A spokesman for the Punjab Education department also said the incident was not an act by terrorists but related to a personal dispute. He also confirmed that teachers and students remained unhurt in the attack.

The Punjab education ministry has ordered the Executive District Officer (Education) department to submit a report on the incident.
