Sindh Police announces reward to help apprehend Sabeen Mahmud’s killers
KARACHI: The Sindh Police on Tuesday evening announced that anyone who assisted them in providing valuable information to help bring Sabeen Mahmud’s killers to justice would be rewarded with a cash prize.

A statement by the Sindh Police also said that the identities of the informants would be protected.

On April 29, DIG South Dr Jameel had said that police got hold of cell phone numbers in the ongoing investigation.

He said two years ago Sabeen had taken out a rally in support of Valentine’s Day and she had been receiving threats ever since.

The DIG said there could be extremists or terrorist outfits behind the murder of the social activist.

He said the initial investigation shows that some terrorist outfits had made threatening phone calls to her.

Sabeen Mahmud, director at The Second Floor (T2F) was gunned down by unidentified armed assailants on April 24 as she left T2F in her car for home along with her mother after hosting a seminar.

The armed attackers riding a motor bike approached her vehicle and showered it with bullets. Sabeen received four bullets and later succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.
