AIG Karachi orders installation of GPS trackers in motorcycles
KARACHI: Additional Inspector General Karachi Police Ghulam Qadir Thebo has sent a letter to the Excise and Taxation Department, calling for installation of GPS trackers in motorcycles at the time of registration of the two-wheeler.

As many as 7,000 motorcycles were stolen or snatched during the current year in a clear sign of rising number of street crimes in the metropolis that is home to at least 20 million people.

Keeping in view the huge number of theft and snatching of motorcycles, the AIG ordered that installation of trackers must be declared mandatory at the time of registration.
