Loadshedding due to non-supply of oil and gas: PEPCO
LAHORE: MD PEPCO Rasool Khan Masood said Monday that electricity shortfall increased due to the non-supply of oil, Geo News reported.

He said that if oil and gas were supplied than the shortfall would decrease immediately and it was essential for the country’s prosperity for businesses to function.

Speaking during a press conference, MD PEPCO said that power plants were only generating electricity at half their capacity because they were not being supplied oil and gas.

Rasool Khan Masood said that the government had to give subsidies which were causing PEPCO to suffer adding that if Dams were built than this would not be the situation today. He added that no date could be given for when the shortfall would end and until the dependency on water and coal continued, the shortfall would also continue.

According to the PEPCO MD, 3,000 MW were in the system and 1,000 MW will be provided by Iran in four years.
