SC seeks date of Islamabad LG polls bill from AG
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday said that it should know by tomorrow when the bill would be passed for the Islamabad Local Government elections.

The SC during a hearing today, directed the Attorney General for the date.

Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja said it doesn’t seem that the polls would be held on July 25.

The Election Commission of Pakistan is also set to issue final list of candidates today.

The polls will be held in 79 Union Councils (UC) while there will be 13 seats for each UC.

These include one Chairman, one Vice Chairman, six general seats, one youth, one peasant or worker member, two women and one minority.

Overall 680,000 registered voters will cast their votes to elect their representatives.
