Key commander of banned outfit among three terrorists killed in Quetta
QUETTA: Three terrorists, including a key commander of a banned religious outfit, were killed during a joint search operation carried out by Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies in Gas Colony area of the city in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to security sources, joint search operations were also carried out in Satellite Town’s Eastern Bypass, Bhusa Mandi and other adjoining areas.

During the raid in Gas Colony, militant commander Mehmood Rind along with his two accomplices was killed by FC firing. Two FC personnel also sustained bullet wounds during the exchange of fire with the terrorists. They were taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta, where they are said to be in a stable condition.

The terrorists belonging to a banned religious outfit were planning to target Youm-e-Ali related processions and gathering in Balochistan.

Rind was wanted in several cases of targeted killings and terrorism carried out throughout the province.

Hand grenades and other weapons were recovered from the compound, where terrorists were hiding.

Earlier on Monday morning, at least three people belonging to Hazara community were killed in a firing incident on Quetta's Joint Road.
