Additional sessions judge gunned down in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Police say unidentified gunmen have shot dead an additional sessions judge in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Additional sessions judge Tahir Khan Niazi was targeted Wednesday in the city's Satellite Town area, after which he was taken to the Benazir Bhutto hospital in an injured state.

Niazi succumbed to his wounds at the hospital, and his body was later transferred to the District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Rawalpindi.

Police said the gunmen managed to escape following the attack.

A few days ago, Niazi had handed down the death sentence to a father accused in a sexual assault case involving his own daughter.
